Executive Clearance provides incredible service levels to those in need of intensive electrolysis treatment.

1. While the owner, James, is headquartered in Buffalo, he travels the country frequently to visit clients. I have had more appointments in other cities than in Buffalo.

2. He has custom-designed everything in his operating environment to support 4- to 9-hour sessions. He has special arm rests to keep him from fatiguing. He has a ceiling-mounted screen so that patients can watch movies.

3. James uses some of the best electrolysis equipment in the industry and he works like lightning! I have never seen anyone keep up their concentration for so many hours at a time. I have used 5 other electrologists. James covers more hairs and causes less swelling and scarring than any.

4. I've met 15 other patients of James'. That is unusual. But James has a very loyal following of customers.

5. When I have traveled to Buffalo, James has picked me up and dropped me off at my hotel. Service doesn't get much better. His facilities are not in the greatest of neighborhoods. But that's not what I want to pay for!

When I was first able to start seriously expressing my female side in 2010, I researched electrolysis, among other things, online. “Executive Clearance” sounded more like a warehouse where CEOs might shop (or a place you’d go if you wanted to get rid of one). The website was very informative and the reviews were encouraging. Other local places that perform this service didn’t seem to have much in the line of web content; I also didn’t get any warm feelings that they might be transgender-friendly. James and I exchanged emails in which he explained what he does, and how much it would cost. I actually met him shortly afterward at a Buffalo Belles meeting where he presented the elements of his profession to the group. Unfortunately, I was not in a financial position at that time to be able to see him. Several years later, I had an opportunity to have laser hair removal treatments done at a discount. This turned out to basically be a waste of my time and money. The salon was up front about the situation, that being that laser does not work on white, gray, or light colored hair; most of my facial hair by that time was white. I still had the treatments, but the result was disappointing since it never had any effect on the bulk of what I had. I was actually lucky I didn’t suffer skin damage. One time I had come a day after seeing the dentist, for which I have to take antibiotics. The clinician did not ask me about that, which they are supposed to do. Some antibiotics can cause a permanent reaction that affects the color of the skin where the laser is used. In the course of treatments, I rarely saw the same clinician twice, and my impression was that their training was minimal and just enough to earn them a certificate of having spent whatever time was needed to read the manual and learn what dials to turn. Over time, having developed friendships in the transgender community, I learned that there are few practitioners who specialize in treating gender-nonconforming clients, James being one of them. There were people I’d met who had their electrolysis done by James and raved about him. After reading the stories of other people who’d seen clinicians in salons where electrolysis is just one of the services offered and had been greatly disappointed, I wasn’t about to go anywhere else if ever I were able to go through with it.

In early 2016, I decided that I wanted to live expressing myself as a female full time once I retired. Being in a better financial state than I had been years earlier, I contacted James and we made arrangements to begin the procedure. As the process could take well over a year to complete, possibly two, I wanted to get started as soon as possible. At our first session, I had no idea what to expect, even though I’d been told all the basics. I didn’t know what it was going to feel like, how much pain would be involved, or what I’d go through afterward. From some of the testimonials I’d read on the Executive Clearance website, I knew James would work for a substantial number of hours during the first clearances. Would I be able to hold up for that long? The pain was surprisingly tolerable. Sensitive areas like the upper lip were the worst, but even so, it wasn’t something I’d felt any anesthetic would have helped. Perhaps I have a higher tolerance than some others might. In any event, James worked on me for seven hours a day for three days, and half that on the fourth. It took several days for the swelling to go down, but once it did, there was no indication of any skin degradation. In fact, I didn’t have to shave for several weeks after that. Subsequent clearances went much faster, and depended on the number of weeks between them. As James will advise, it’s best to have sessions around six to eight weeks apart, and no longer than twelve. I can testify to that; my third clearance was at 11 weeks and took three nearly full days of work. I’ve had five clearances so far, and over 30,000 hairs removed in a total of 68 hours. My skin looks like gold. I’m looking forward to the day that I never have to shave again, ever. (My face, anyway!) I think the most important thing I can say here is that if you are transgender male to female, gender-fluid, or in any way desirous of expressing yourself in a way that facial hair is something with which you no longer wish to deal, I couldn’t recommend James more highly. James has the utmost respect for those of us in that category, and you will never feel more comfortable around someone treating you who has your best interests at heart. What may seem an expensive proposition at first is far more reasonable than looking back on money paid to someone far less skilled, far less experienced, for a far less satisfying result. I’m extremely happy with my experience and feel it’s been worth every penny.

In case you are in a hurry, I'm going to open by saying my electrolysis experience with James W Walker VII at Executive Clearance has been nothing short of phenomenal and I would offer the highest recommendation to anyone seeking permanent hair removal treatment and seeking the best value in terms of time, money and comfort.

I came to James first for a free consultation and was pleased that it wasn't the usual sales pitch. He took the time to explain the electrolysis process including history, methodology, the importance of top of the line equipment, and his unique means of achieving full clearance in an area in the least amount of time possible with the lowest level of discomfort. The consult also included several treatment areas including the chin, jaw line, and upper lip. I was comforted by the fact that he didn't cherry pick less sensitive areas, but instead chose those where the highest amount of pain could be expected. He managed my expectations very well in terms of discomfort, time, results, and cost.

I will digress for a moment and touch on an area that tends to jump out at new clientele because it certainly raised questions for me. His office doesn't exactly scream chamomile tea and finger sandwiches. I never saw even a scrap of marble or even a lone fountain. Instead I would describe it as the 'House' of offices. Rumpled and off putting on the outside, but incredibly impressive in the ability housed therein. James explained his business model as one that focuses on keeping as much of the overhead expenses as possible confined to the equipment. Personally, this worked for me because I would far rather pay for effective treatment over a lavender overstuffed suede couch or humongous fish tank.

What I also appreciated about the office was his impressive collection of DVD. Seriously, like thousands of them. As James is willing to do marathon sessions from mid-morning to late at night, he helps clients pass the time with a clever set up of multiple monitors showing whatever your heart's desire from his impressively diverse selection that even boasts both 'Mannequin' and 'Mannequin II'.

Upon arriving, I came into the treatment room and lay back on a comfortable table and James grounded me using a very pretty gold plated collar I never even noticed through the treatment. He adjusted his equipment to my personalized settings, put on the movie I had selected and got right to work. I was amazed at how quickly he worked and how easily I was able to dissociate from the process while watching the movie. He would insert the hair thin needle down each follicle shaft, zap, and pluck, bringing the hair out with the root intact. Where all my previous research indicated that the electrolysis process would be extended over years with little results being seen for a long time, and so painful that no more than an hour or two could be endured, I managed 8 hours that first time and never even needed a painkiller.

I will be honest, the initial results were startling at first. James managed to remove 3500 hairs in that session, which left my face very red, puffy and swollen. James applied tea tree oil and sent me home with instructions, and most of the swelling was gone by the next day. Better yet, so was a huge amount of my facial hair. His process left no bumps, no pocks, no scars, and no sign that hair had ever been there to begin with. I could not have been more pleased!

With the best regards,

Michelle W.

It is with great pleasure that I recommend James Walker to you. James helped me from the early 90's to around 2005 and he was totally accommodating to my special needs. James's knowledge and experience in the field of Electrology is bar none. One just needs to do an online search on permanent hair removal to prove that point. He has helped the countless on the Hair tell site answering their questions and pointing them in the right direction. His demeanor is great and always greets you with a smile (even when I requested an early am appointment!).

For anyone who is wondering if James can tackle the absolute toughest hair removal challenges out there, I am living proof he can!

I have had problems with my skin since puberty due to an excessive amount of facial hair, with a solid 400 to 500 hairs per square inch depending on what area of the face and neck. With a face full of shaving bumps and a beard so tough it was difficult to shave even WITH a four blade razor I could only shave every few days; even then, it was impossible to achieve a truly smooth face and there were always cuts and bleeding from shaving. After years of frustration and trying every razor, gel and shaving technique under the sun, I made the decision to have my facial hair removed.

In terms of speed and endurance, James is unrivaled. I have worked with others over the years, and while the work was good, I was frustrated with the limited amount of time they were able to work and the very slow process. Working a few hours at a time, for someone who required 30 hours just to get my whole face to a first clearance, was frustrating to say the least. James had no problem working on me for as long as it took to get the job done. He could work on me many hours a day for a period of several days, which it took to get me to a first clearance and keep me clear. On top of that, James is FAST, averaging twice the number of hairs per hour of anyone I had been to previously. I learned that, in addition to skill, the best equipment can make a huge difference!

I can't say enough how friendly and professional James is to work with. Given how extreme my beard was (and the fact I plucked it for years made it even worse!), the road to full removal was very difficult for me. However, James' personality and sense of humor made it as comfortable for me as it could be, and he is a true joy to work with. In addition, he was very patient, answered all of my questions and was more than willing to work with me in terms of my individual needs and limitations.

If you have an extreme hair removal need, I can't recommend James enough. I can't express how thankful I am for his work and how it has changed my life.

I went to James from Hawaii in early 2005 for my first beard clearance. I chose James at the time over E-2000/E-3000 and cancelled my appointments with them because he was able to show me pictures of his work and put me in touch with happy finished clients. I was in a hurry to get through the first clearance and hoped I could dream of easy maintenance and fast completion. (Yes, I flew from Hawaii to Buffalo New York on a regular schedule) I have subsequently had 5 full clearances with him at the proper intervals. 95% of all the hair has been permanently removed, and I saved a lot of money over what I would have paid in Texas.

When I made my decision to see James, it was important to me that he was using the latest technology. I have been to other electrologists and i am very pleased that he used the microflash thermolysis to achieve the first 5 full clearances. I feel that this technique assisted him in both speed of removal as well as minimalizing any damage to the skin surrounding the folicle. I have no visible damage to the skin after 5 intense periods of treatment.

I flew in and stayed for a week. In that time we cleared the whole face and most of the neck in between sight seeing excursions. My hair growth was severe. I was told it was in the 450 to 500 hairs per square inch category. James achieved the clearance in about 6–7 hours a day and with only advil for pain. No injections were needed as the pain from the treatment was annoying but not severe. My upper lip at the lip line was the exception, but most people don't have hair “in the paint”.

I did a package: five Clearances and 95% reduction, what a bargain! Now, I am using a local elecrologist for a few strays once in a while because it does not make sense to fly across the county for what I now clear locally in 2 hours work using blend. James is excellent and I am very lucky that I was willing to take a chance. It proved the best investment I could have ever made.

The best thing that I’ve done for myself was going to Executive Clearance, owned and operated by James W. Walker VII. From the initial appointment until now, I've received nothing less than first rate service.

James’ professional assessment, trial treatment and complete program are the best I’ve seen so far. As long as you follow his instructions, suggestions, and don’t miss scheduled appointments, your satisfaction is almost assured.

His rate of hair removal is impressive, the skill he has shows up with clear smooth skin. Pitting and scarring are nonexistent. I’ve been to other supposed Hair Removal Specialists and they can’t compare to James and his Executive Clearance.

Do yourself a favor and begin your permanent hair removal experience the right way – with James and get your Executive Clearance. I did and my skin has never looked so good.

James Walker did a marathon treatment on me of just shy of 13 hours, basically spread over two days. Well, less than 24 hours, as eleven and a half of those hours were on the same day.

That was the first full clearance of my beard - 10,000 hairs removed in under 13 hours. No anesthetic needed. Aside from a few small areas (such as right under the nose), it was pretty much painless. Uncomfortable, mind you... but that has more to do with just sitting around on the treatment table for long periods of time - something that wouldn't exactly be helped by lidocaine injections.

James keeps you distracted with the DVD player he's got hooked up to monitors mounted in multiple locations (so you can see regardless of how he's got you oriented on the table). And taking short breaks every hour or two is pretty important. But speaking as the victim... er, I mean "client", it was all fairly pleasant. I was on a plane home the next day, and within 24 hours of the treatment, the swelling had subsided. Not a single scab or mark on my face.

In comparison to how easy it was as the "client", I figure marathon sessions have to be pretty tiring for the electrologist! Which is no doubt one of the big reasons why you don't see more of them offering that sort of treatment.

I tried a few electrologists before I started seeing James, and treatment with all of them did hurt. A LOT. Now admittedly, I have a very low pain threshold, but still... even using emla and the like, and even with the sessions being very short, I was less than enthusiastic about the prospect of them doing that to my whole beard. Yowch! I couldn't imagine sitting through two hours of that, much less 13.

There is an absolutely massive difference between electrologists, even those purportedly with a lot of experience. Not one of the electrologists I tried had less than a decade of experience. If I had based my impression of electrolysis solely on my experience with them, I would've been begging for injections.

To those interested in hair removal:

I was referred to James from a friend when I considered facial hair removal and I am grateful for this person for doing so, because over the past two years James and myself have developed a good professional relationship.

At first I was concerned about hair removal that it might be painful but James did an excellent job telling me all about electrology showing me diagrams and pictures and giving me an in depth overview of what electrology was all about. We then did a little trial run and to my surprise the pain was minimal and bearable and he allayed all my concerns.

I could tell as he worked that not only did he know what he was doing but he went about his work in a manner that clearly showed me he was an expert. He takes his time and does an excellent job. Since we started to work together I have been very pleased not only with the results of his work but his overall character. he is even fun to work with, he has a great sense of humor and is enjoyable to work with. I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in hair removal. I don't think you will find anyone more qualified or anyone better to work with. He gives you a sense of security with his humor and he enjoys working with people.

In my opinion, he is the best in the business.

Sincerely,

Dana M. Grant

For those asking for someone to prove that electrolysis really works, here I am! I underwent electrolysis for about two years, and almost 300 hours and I am done and EXTREMELY happy with my results. The work covered the full face and neck going back into the hairline and down into the chest.  Most of my treatments were nearly painless, except for the upper lip (under the center of the nose) and my chin, on the jawbone. I slept through a lot of my sessions. I have no pock marks and my skin is smooth. Electrolysis works and can be essentially painless if it is done right.

I will have to say that I got very lucky when I found James Walker. I had been going to another electrolygist in the area for a year before I found him and I could only take an hour a week and the sessions were very painful and I left her house red, sore, swollen and with ice on my face. After a year with her , I had gotten no where. A year lost. The first time I went to see James, I went for three hours and I left feeling the same way I had walked in to see him. I'm not saying all the sessions were painless, because some were, but none as bad as what I had been doing.

I have photos of my progress on my site if you care to look. http://www.geocities.com/tinamarie022/Hair.html I am almost done now and I didn't think I would ever get here, but I did and I am a happpy girl. Good luck to you.

As you know I came to you based on a recommendation from that trans woman in Ottawa. She asked me to let her know my honest opinion when I returned. Below I am copying my honest appraisal. I will let it speak for itself. Thank you for everything. I have just gotten home after my first appointment with James. We worked for three days, a total of 21 hours. I have already booked my next appointment week for June 15th.

First of all I have to say, he is an intelligent, articulate, polite, gentleman in a way I have not often encountered. On top of which he is genuinely handsome and attractive in every way. This is no ordinary person at all. He is also a truly sympathetic supporter of transgender people with a depth of understanding and appreciation I have never before encountered in a cis sexual man. He went to lunch and dinner with me every day and made certain I was looked after.

Now, as regards his work. I have a fair bit to compare to as he is the sixth person to work on me. Genetic women find value in electrolysis and that's fine. Trans women MUST have it, life without can be near impossible and even dangerous. What he does can be life saving for someone like me.

I'm not an expert on equipment but I can tell that everything he uses is modern and very up to date. Even his table is comfortable and I say that as someone with a bad lower back. He does not use a stupid magnifying glass, but what amounts to a microscope on a swivel.

He works precisely and with speed. Not rushed at all, just very steady. Almost robotic in the movements he makes. This is a master craftsman at the height of his skill. His claimed speed of 500-700 hairs per hour is accurate. Based on my experience about twice as fast as anyone I have ever worked with. I won't say it is painless, it's not, but the pain is tolerable bearing in mind it all gets quite tedious after 8 hours. I would never have thought it was possible to work that long in one session.

By the end of the day my skin was irritated and red. I simply slathered on pharmaceutical grade vitamin E cream and by the next morning was back to normal. I don't have one bump or mark on my skin. Unheard of. He has my unhesitating recommendation. There may be others with his level of skill but I highly doubt there exists anyone who surpasses it.
